Wellington Builders, Roofers & Property Specialists

Building, renovating, and maintaining homes and properties across Wellington.

Since 2005, Orkney Group has worked with homeowners, property managers, investors, developers, and commercial clients across Wellington, Porirua, the Hutt Valley, and the Kapiti Coast.

Today, the group includes specialist divisions across construction, roofing, waterproofing, painting, decorating, and maintenance, alongside Green Abode and Miro Homes.

our story

Established in 2005 by Director Kevin Turley, Orkney Group began by renovating older Wellington homes before evolving into a multi-division construction and property group.

The name Orkney is inspired by the Orkney Islands in Scotland, where Kevin’s ancestors built their own lives and legacies before migrating to New Zealand. That heritage of craftsmanship, resilience, and hard work continues to shape the business today.

Over the years, the group has expanded to include specialist divisions across construction, roofing, waterproofing, painting, decorating, and property maintenance, allowing clients to work with one trusted team across multiple stages of a project or property lifecycle.

While each division has its own area of expertise, the focus across the group remains consistent: practical solutions, strong relationships, clear communication, and work clients feel confident standing behind.

Sustainability and long-term performance also play an increasingly important role in the way the group approaches building. Through Green Abode, Orkney supports more energy-efficient and high-performance homes designed for healthier living and lower running costs, while Miro Homes expands the offering for first-home buyers, investors, and developers seeking practical, well-built homes with lasting value.
