when to consider renovating
Renovating usually starts with a feeling that something isn’t working.
-
Your kitchen or bathroom no longer suits how you live
-
The layout feels cramped, outdated, or inefficient
-
You want to improve how your home functions day to day
-
You’re updating your home without changing its footprint
If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

House renovation - Lower Hutt
Internal walls were reconfigured to add a spare bedroom and transform a disjointed lounge into a master suite with a walk-through wardrobe and ensuite. A kitchen island was added, and the existing living area was levelled to create a more cohesive space.

Bathroom & Laundry renovation - Karori
The bathroom was extended into the laundry to create more space, allowing for a walk-in shower, new tiling, and updated fixtures. The laundry was then reconfigured with full-length cabinetry, with the washer and dryer integrated.

Full house renovation - Hataitai
This renovation involved both interior and exterior work, including reconfiguring the layout by moving walls, adjusting doors and windows, and improving the overall flow of the home. The project also included adding a deck off the relocated kitchen, along with a second deck downstairs.
"We have been living in the house for the duration of the work and the crew have been very good at respecting our privacy and helping us manage the space."
- R Kellett

faq's
Is it better to renovate or move home?
For many homeowners, renovating can be a cost-effective way to create the space and functionality they need without leaving the neighbourhood they love. A renovation can improve how your home works for your lifestyle while adding long-term value to the property.
How much does a home renovation cost in Wellington?
The cost of a renovation depends on the size, scope, and complexity of the project. Factors such as structural changes, materials, and consent requirements can all influence the budget. We work closely with homeowners to understand their goals and provide practical solutions that align with their budget.
What renovations add the most value to a home?
The renovations that add the most value often depend on the property and the local market, but kitchen renovations, bathroom upgrades, improved indoor-outdoor flow, and well-planned interior reconfigurations are consistently popular with homeowners and buyers. Beyond resale value, many renovation projects also improve the functionality, comfort, and liveability of a home.
Do I need building consent for renovation?
Whether building consent is required depends on the scope of the renovation. Cosmetic updates such as painting, replacing flooring, or installing new cabinetry generally do not require consent. However, structural changes, alterations to load-bearing walls, plumbing work, or significant modifications to the layout of your home may require approval from your local council.
If you're unsure, our team can help assess your project requirements and work alongside designers, architects, and consultants to guide you through the consent process where needed.
