The Brief
The owners wanted each bedroom to have its own character while fitting naturally within the home’s wider traditional European-inspired interior.

In their daughter’s room, an ornate neutral wallpaper complements the decorative ceiling rose, traditional cornices and chandelier-style pendant. Their son’s room features a softer botanical design, with colourful birds sitting amongst branches and foliage. In the master bedroom, a large-scale damask-style wallpaper introduces a more classic, understated finish.
With designs this detailed, precise installation was essential.

The Challenge
Our Approach
An unexpected supply delay
The wallpaper supplier hadn’t sent enough rolls to complete the three bedrooms. Additional wallpaper had to be ordered, resulting in a delay of around two months before the job could be completed.
Intricate patterns and difficult angles
The large, detailed patterns needed to align perfectly across sloping drop walls and irregular edges. The bird wallpaper was particularly challenging, as even a small mismatch between drops could leave a bird’s head and body out of alignment.
Our wallpaperer, John, carefully planned and positioned each drop so the patterns flowed naturally across the walls, including around the more difficult angles and edges.

It was painstaking work, but the attention to detail paid off. When you stand back and look across the finished walls, the patterns connect seamlessly, right down to the smallest details on the birds.

The Result
Three very different wallpapers now give each bedroom its own personality while tying into the wider style of the home.

More importantly, the quality of the installation allows the designs themselves to shine. Even across challenging walls and awkward angles, the patterns appear continuous and beautifully aligned.
We had 3 bedrooms wallpapered by John, and he did absolutely marvellous work. The wallpapers were a challenge because of the large patterns and our sloping dropped ceilings, with lots of irregular angle walls, but he made the pattern look great. Highly recommend him.
